Highlights from BlogHer Food in Miami

Miami, BlogHer, Food

I had the opportunity to travel with my friends Kellie and Janet to the BlogHer Food conference in Miami. It was an amazing opportunity to meet and learn from fellow food bloggers and to talk about how we grow food on our farms.

I got the chance to finally meet some of my favorite food bloggers in person. I felt like I already knew some of them through their blogs. They were even more entertaining and down-to-earth in person.

Speaking of amazingly talented, friendly bloggers … we also got the chance to hang with The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. When I told her I was a farmer, she lifted her fist and said, “Yay agriculture!” You go, Ree!

Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, JulieOne thing I wasn’t expecting was to meet other farmers in Miami! Some of the first ladies we met were farmers. We randomly ended up at the same table the first day of the conference. Small world. They were also there to meet other food bloggers, pick up a few new tips and share stories from their farms. We met up for lunch one of the days to chat.

Check out their blogs to see more from these great ladies:

Wag’n Tails:  Val is a farm mom from North Dakota. She had us all cracking up at lunch with her stories. Her blog is equally entertaining. Her post about how to spend 10 years married to a farmer is one that I can definitely relate to!

Farmgirl Follies:  Jennifer is a farm mom from Ohio. I love the amazing photography and mouth-watering recipes on her blog. Her recipe for the best roast beef sandwich you’ll ever eat is on my list to try this week.

Meg in Training: Meg is a farm mom who blogs about her CrossFit adventures and life as a mom in Missouri. I could definitely use some work out tips from Meg!

Teach Me 2 Save: Leanette is not a farmer, but she had lunch with us and has a great blog with some good deals you should check out.

Miami, Night

Our days were jam-packed, but we snuck away in the evenings to enjoy South Beach and some amazing restaurants. Thanks to Iowa Corn and Janet and Kellie for an amazing time filled with learning, great food and new friends!
